I went to the doctor for the first time today in 3-4 years. The reason for my doctor’s visit was a tickling cough that had been bothering me every night for the past couple of days up until the point where I just could not go to sleep because I was coughing so much. This led me to my decision to finally put my medical insurance to good use and seek out my doctor’s help. Luckily it was nothing big, but I did have to get a shot and get some blood drawn for some general blood work that I hadn’t had done in ages. Something about testing cholesterol levels. Luckily I’m on top of my Honey Nut Cheerios game and keep that in check. (And well, yeah I exercise too, but I think that has less to do with it and it’s all the Honey Nut Cheerios, right?) Afterwards while the weather was absolute crapola I went to work. So crapola in fact that I didn’t even have to wear sunglasses to hide my eyeballs from the bright sun. Luckily when I took these photos of my Oliver Peoples sunglasses the weather was pretty nice. I’ve had these for quite a while now; I believe I actually purchased them before the start of this bog. I know I know, I didn’t think my life existed much before then either, because blogging is life!! I had always wanted squared off aviator style of sunglasses and when I saw these I knew I had to get them. I have tried the ever popular Ray Ban Caravan, but it just isn’t the right shape for my face. Of course I have to do a short photo essay/provide detailed photos of one of the accessories I will be rocking in a ton of outfit posts going forward now that it is getting very sunny. (A run on sentence?! Cant be!!)

Oliver Peoples Linford

Dat Rivet Detail…

Logo inset into the temple.

One of the great things about Oliver Peoples just like many other higher end brands is that their logo-ing is very very subtle. Now with that out of the way let me get to the outfit for this post. For my outfit posts I have started taking self portraits rather than having my friend Danielle take all of them. This way I will force myself to take more photographs and force myself to get more creative too. Because there is nothing more boring than me standing in the exact same spot wearing marginally different clothing each time. Here is the first group of shots in my outfit of the day posts that were taken as self portraits.

Fixing my cuff, yet the camera WAITS FOR NO ONE!!!

I should perhaps get these things done before setting up to take photos.

Oh, Hey there, what is that I see off to the side?

Oh wait, it’s just a rolie polie just chillin in front of me. Or this is just me jumping on the typical outfit pose bandwagon?

I’d say it’s the latter. Opted for something very basic here. Sunglasses, a polo, denim, and shoes.

This weekend is going to be a very busy weekend; I am starting it off this morning with a long overdue haircut! My hair is getting far too unruly and is definitely rebelling against me. I finally know what it feels like to be a parent of a teenage child. Thanks hair. Hopefully no parents take the same action against their children as I am taking against my hair. That action being cutting it. That would be terrible.

The past week has been very busy. So busy in fact that I almost forgot that I had a blog. Fear not my dear readers I have not forgotten about you. I have just been catching up with life after a hectic week. Both today and yesterday I had the afternoon off with no work that urgently needed to be finished. So naturally I spent that entire time thinking about how awesome it would be if I had the ability to fly. Ok, maybe not the entire time, but a good amount. By a good amount I really mean 10 minutes while the rest of the time was taken up by running errands and finished up things I had fallen behind on.

The sun has finally stepped out from behind the clouds and so the weather is definitely warming up. While it still gets pretty cool out with a bit of wind from time to time it isn’t insanely cold and overcast as often as it used to be. With that in mind I’ll finally be phasing out some of my winter wear for good (not as in forever but just until next fall), and welcoming in some warmer weather clothing.

Still not quite warm enough to go without a windbreaker though!

Now this day wasn’t too warm and there was definitely a cool breeze so I had my trusty windbreaker with me at all times. I did, however, take the windbreaker off a couple of times to show off my ridiculously harry arms. (Not! I’d say their hairiness is about average for a 22 year old that isn’t Robin Williams. So not particularly hairy at all.)

So do horizontal stripes make me look exceptionally wide?

I really like this knitted tee from from Saint James. I can definitely see myself wearing it all of the time, now that it is getting warmer. At first I wasn’t quite sure about the boat neck but I’ve learned to really like it. It’s nice and thick too so the shirt feels substantial. As well it should considering this is the most I have ever really spent a  single shirt. I’ve had no problem spending money on expensive items such as blazers, shoes and denim, but up until recently I just couldn’t get myself to spend the extra buck on tops such as Tees and button ups.

In these photos I am also wearing my newest acquisition; the Opening Ceremony M13 Desert Boot in a black suede. These were, again from eBay and I got them for a steal. I have recently learned to love eBay for the awesome deals it provides, and these shoes were no exception. You just have to be very patient for the right deal to come along. I must admit though, my friend Danielle was actually the one who found these on her daily eBay hunts and not me. Without further ado, here are some photos of the shoes.

Note: I wore these around for a couple of days before getting around to taking photos so there is definitely some wear to be seen.

Opening Ceremony M13 Boot in Black Suede

At first I was a bit hesitant as I couldn’t really imagine myself wearing black shoes with that many outfits. After a bout a week or so of owning them I quickly learned that they essentially go with everything and black is a much more versatile color (or rather the absence of color) than I had thought.

The front view of Desert boots always remind me of duck feet. Obviously they don't look like that on though. Because I definitely wouldn't want to be wearing duck feet.

Again, Just like the Rachel Comey's, I really like that contrasting leather sole.

Opening Ceremony Logo on the insole. Of course I know the logo is upside down in this photo, but the photo just looks better this way.

Once upon a time I wrote about the Steve McQueen edition Persol sunglasses. In the post i uploaded a couple of photos I took of the sunglasses themselves as well as a photo of me wearing them. While I think they’re both great I wanted to provide a photographic update, with what I think are in some ways, better photos. Without further ado, here they are; the Persol SM714 in Havana in all of their fold-able glory.
